Sony HX5 - does World´s Greatest Bodypainters

Since this post is one of the most viewed, I decided to dig through my pictures again and show you some other shots. Scroll all the way down.


Just in our neighborhood this weekend was a body painter exhibition, so I took the HX5 on to her first fun trip.

Happily I live in a country where women and man have the same right to go topless on the beach, you do not get arrested if you wear a string tanga as it will happen in certain parts of the USA. It is also normal for the little ones to run around naked on the beach and no body cares, but:

If you have problems with bare breasts or exposed nipples then I have to pull a Gandalf on you.

As far as I remember correctly, all shots except the ones in the cave are shot in HDR mode.
I noticed after the shooting session at home that with HDR you loose the brilliance and crispiness of the normal modes. (see HDR test)

The pictures are all re-sized to 800 pixel high, so on a 1280x800 screen you will see them in full screen size without any resizing.
Below I also have a lossless crop from each foto with added comments to the shots.

With these shots I goofed big time
Normally in low light situations with non moving subjects I use HHT and it never failed me so far with my HX1. At home I saw that the HHT used mostly 1/15 sec or slower. Since all shots except the first were done in tele mode HHT failed me miserably.
I do not know if it was the zoom or If I was shaking to much because I sneaked these shots pretty fast before somebody could tell me off.
So note to self:
In low light situations check the display, if zoom is used and you are below 1/15 sec then use AMB mode.
Sorry they are so blurry, these are the best from 12 shots.

I also made a few clips and the one I made in the cave came out much nicer then the fotos.
the clips will follow but here is one screen captures and you can see if can save your bacon when you messed up like me with the fotos.

After finishing shooting the girls, I saw this flower and got the close up with 10x zoom
